6B is a ready to go unit caring for 30 patients who are medically optimised but require ongoing supported care for safe discharge. The focus for these patients is reablement with the aim of reducing the on-going care requirement. The ethos is to optimise patient independence through enablement, adopting a "dressed is best" approach, delivering care that will reflect the patients home or community environment on discharge.As the ward manager you will be instrumental in taking forward any ongoing and new developments in the Ready to Go processes to make this a success for our patients and Trust.

Main duties of the job

Promote and set high standards of professional care and maintain the delivery of quality care within the trust policies, protocols and guidelines. Implement the trust 'values and beliefs' ensuring they are embedded into everyday practice and evaluate their impact on the patients' experience.

Provide strong professional leadership to staff within sphere of clinical responsibility. Lead and motivate staff by giving clear direction and setting achievable objectives.

Continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care providing senior decision making and support.

  • NMC Registration
  • Teaching/Assessing/coaching/mentoring qualification or equivalent skill

Experience
