As part of this commitment we are looking to expand out workforce and have an exciting opportunity for Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioners to join our Therapy team. We are looking for enthusiastic and creative individuals to join our team to work closely with our Occupational Therapists to support patients with their Occupational needs.
Main duties of the job
You will need to have a clear passion and understand of Occupational Therapy and its impact on our patients, to independently manage a Occupational Therapy caseload of non-complex service users who have a reduced level of mobility and/or function with support from registered Occupational Therapy colleagues, to optimise the occupational recovery for non-complex patients who present following admission, to independently assess and provide Occupational Therapy rehabilitation or compensatory techniques for patients with a non-complex change to their normal occupational ability. This could be due to a Cognitive, Physical or Medical reason. This may include working with the patient and MDT to support then to leave hospital which could be to their home with support services or to an alternative rehabilitation setting, to complete work delegated by the Occupational Therapist to assist in the rehabilitation of more complex cases, to support as required with triaging Occupational Therapy referrals to explore if there is a clear Occupational Therapy need. Pulling in Occupational Therapy profession as needed and supporting the MDT with where to go if no Occupational Therapy needs identified, have a NVQ level 4 in Health or Social Care or the ability to undertake a QCF level 5 upon starting the role if an NVQ level 4 is not already held
