Job responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities

Development and implantation of category and procurement strategies which:

- Enable the successful delivery of complex projects.

- Serve to minimise the risk and maximise the opportunity presented by current and future macro-economic market conditions.

- Clearly aligned to the Integrated Care System.

- Embody best practice procurement principles in complex regulated procurement contexts.

- Communicate proposed strategies to C-Suite client executives and board members, securing buy-in to enable project progression.

- Lead client market engagement and supplier development activities

- Lead creation and development of detailed procurement / tender documentation,

- Lead the operational delivery and execution of procurement events

- Accountable for people team through effective team leadership, coaching and development.

- Tackling complex supply chain-related business problems across multiple sites

- Continuous development and improvement of our supply chain services

- Formation and delivery of our Inventory Manage Strategy

Leading in delivery of major procurement and supply chain services across the procurement and supply chain lifecycle, from strategic sourcing and category management to tender and award.

Delivery of benefits in supply chain or procurement projects in the public sector

Designing, leading and delivering multiple-stream projects to a high quality from understanding client need to project completion.

Knowledge of the application of best practice in aspects of supply chain management which include:

- Strategic sourcing and category management

- Operational procurement delivery

- Commercial and contract management

- Market engagement

- Supplier performance and relationship management

- Risk management and mitigation strategies

- Procurement governance & compliance - policy/process development, assurance

- Supply/demand planning

- Product management / process improvement

- Supply chain reporting, data analytics and digitisation

Understanding of UK Government Public Procurement Regulations and Policy inclusive of best practice.

Essential

• Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or appropriate professional institute or relevant experience
• Evidence of:
• Supply chain management
• Project management
• Procurement systems training
• UK Procurement Law
• Risk assessment / analysis training
