Main duties of the job
We
are looking to appoint an EQUIP
Administrator, to come and join the busy EME engineering team at Guildford. The
EQUIP administrator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing
the life cycle management of all medical devices at RSH and third party
stakeholders for effective maintenance and repair programs, equipment safety
alerts, and equipment tracking and utilisation.
We
are looking for someone who has good interpersonal skills, is highly organised
and has a methodical approach with attention to detail, which is vital to
ensure the safe delivery of the medical equipment library service. .

Job responsibilities
1. JOB PURPOSE
The
EQUIP administrator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing
the life cycle management of all medical devices at RSH and third party
stakeholders for effective maintenance and repair programs, equipment safety
alerts, and equipment tracking and utilisation. The position acts as a
technical advisor on all equipment issues and assists the Engineering team with
equipment budgets and equipment purchases.
2. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible
for the provision and management of EQUIP asset management system
Maintain asset
management system, keeping database up to date for all equipment assets through
their life cycle.
Establish a
preventative maintenance compliance system for all equipment asset types
Work with vendors to
evaluate new technology/upgrades on assets
Establish a systematic
method to define life cycle of an asset and make recommendations as and when
any asset needs to be replaced or retired.
To assist the EME
Manager in the preparation of the annual Contract Review for the external
Contracts of the Departments Service Level Agreements (SLA).
Maintain EQUIP assets
records to departments Quality System ISO9001:2000.
To
provide statistical data from Medical Equipment Asset Register
To develop appropriate
Quality Standards pertaining to the Administration service, and regularly
updating their compliance
Monitors compliance of
all asset related SOP procedures
Monitors and manages
all repair, PM requirements, quality control of all vendors and in-house repairs
of assets to ensure established procedures are followed
Provides reports and
updates to Engineering Management team on all asset management functions
Identify opportunities
to reduce maintenance spend ( CIPs )
To ensure an
appropriate level of self-development in line with own Personal Appraisal and
Development Plan.
To undertake such duties as shall be
allocated by the Manager according to the posts grade.
The
role calls for someone with an understanding of electronics/instrumentation engineering
across a range of technologies and services that are covered by the EME team
and sound business administration skills.
Engagement with third party vendors to identify suitable spares and
materials to support maintenance and repair of medical equipment.
Understands when decision can be taken on their own initiative and when
input from more senior staff is needed and able to put a clear and concise
brief together to enable effective decision-making.
The ability to learn about new technologies in a dynamic working
environment and to effectively evolve the departmental administration
procedures to support the changes.
Excellent

To implement and ensure
compliance with the departments quality policies in the areas of work for
which the post holder carries responsibility.
To participate in
overtime when required.
To adopt flexible work practices in the event of emergencies or equipment
failures, according to department and professional guidelines
Liaise directly with people at all levels including internal staff,
Trust board, external customers, users of the service and external suppliers.
Along with all other members of the team, to be responsible for ensuring
that effective measures are in place for the safety and security of the offices
and property, including confidential documents and records and in line with the
Information Governance policy.
