Clinical Research Network Kent, Surrey and Sussex

The NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) supports patients, the public and health and care organisations across England to participate in high-quality research, thereby advancing knowledge and improving care. It operates nationally across England through a national coordinating centre and 15 local networks. Each local Clinical Research Network supports 30 clinical specialties organised as six divisions.

The NIHR Clinical Research Network: Kent, Surrey and Sussex (CRN KSS) is hosted by Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust.

The role of the CRN KSS is to coordinate and support the delivery of high quality research taking place in the NHS and across the wider health and social care environment across Kent, Surrey and Sussex. It also helps to increase the opportunities for participants to take part in health and care research, ensuring that studies are carried out efficiently.

The post can be based in Canterbury, Falmer or Guildford, hours: 8.30-4.30 Monday-Friday.

Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen for an Administrative Assistant to join the CRN KSS Administration Team. The post-holder will assist with the smooth running of the Canterbury office hub with an expectation to travel across Kent, Surrey and Sussex for training/meetings and have responsibility for diary management, organising meetings and larger events, including creating visual materials, producing reports, presentations, tables and graphs and general administration duties. Provide divisional support to Project Coordinators and RDMs with organising meetings and events, producing data/charts from ODP for our Partners. Developing and maintaining office systems, including the use of Google Apps, Microsoft, Kanbanchi and Lucidcharts. Providing administrative support to the Senior Administrator for several high level meetings, this will entail sourcing a venue, sending out calendar invitations and related documents, producing minutes, when required. Knowledge of the NHS would be advantageous. You will also need to support our Study Support Service with triaging of emails, labelling and sending out study information. We are looking for a self-motivated person with enthusiasm and a flexible attitude.

Essential requirements:

Good general standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent including English

RSA II or equivalent in typing/proficient keyboard skills

Office Administration qualification or equivalent
