BAND 5 TO BAND 6 DEVELOPMENTAL COMMUNITY PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Are you a motivated Band 5 Physiotherapist looking to progress and build further knowledge and skills in Frailty and Neurological Rehabilitation?

We are looking to recruit a Full Time Band 5 Physiotherapist to join our Community Therapy Team in Guildford and Waverley. Based at Milford Hospital, with a satellite office in Guildford. We are a friendly and experienced team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Rehabilitation Assistants.

You will be supported with regular clinical supervision and in service training from Clinical Specialists within the field. We will help support you to attain competencies in order to progress to being an experienced Band 6 Specialist Community Physiotherapist.

You will assess and treat people in their own homes, out-patient clinics and using telephone and video calls, and will manage your own caseload of patients.

You must be well organised and an excellent communicator and be willing to work flexibly.Remote working is part of this role, you will require a willingness to learn to use IT applications to carry out this job effectively.It is essential that you are a car driver and can travel independently between sites and to patients homes.

Main duties of the job

You can expect to build links with Tertiary, Secondary and Voluntary sectors e.g. local orthopaedic and spasticity clinics. You will work closely and effectively with the wider Multidisciplinary team in the community, this may include; Orthotists, Wheelchair services and Social workers.

The Community Therapy Team aims to provide high quality, responsive physiotherapy services, for patients referred for a wide range of reasons, for example following a history of deteriorating mobility or falls, fractured neck of femur, Parkinsons disease, Stroke and Multiple Sclerosis. Patients may require active rehabilitation, as well as disability management. We are a forward thinking service who welcome service development for the benefit of our patients, we welcome candidates who are like minded.

The post holder will be expected to contribute to the on-going development of clinical practice, standards, research, as well as policies, protocols, guidelines and service development. The post holder will have professional responsibility for themselves and those who they supervise.

Currently the team operates a five day service, but in accordance with other services, seven day working is a possibility in the future. In exceptional circumstance the neuro team may be expected to support Rapid Response Services along with all other therapy teams.
