We are looking to recruit a Locum Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon with a special interest in skin cancer and trauma, for a fixed term role.
The Royal Surrey is proud to have an enthusiastic
and dynamic team of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons who share the common goal of providing excellent clinical care. The department is a Regional referral unit
for Oral and Maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) from hospitals in North Hampshire and
North/ West Surrey. The team manages the full breadth of pathology associated
with OMFS.
Due to the immediate demand on the OMFS service at
RSCH, the unit is to recruit a new locum consultant. The role will primarily
focus on the management of skin cancer, trauma, odontogenic lesions and complex
dento alveolar surgery. There will be an on call commitment associated with
this role.

Main duties of the job
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to provide a service in the management of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Head and Neck Oncology
2.In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to play a full part in the out-of-hours On Call service for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
3.To provide cover for Consultant and Senior colleagues in respect of periods of leave
4.In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met
5.To ensure that there are adequate arrangements for hospital staff involved in the care of your patients to be able to contact you when necessary
6.In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to play a full part in the professional supervision and management of junior medical staff
7.In conjunction with Cosultant and Senior colleagues, to take responsibility for the best use of departmental staffing and other resources to ensure the maximum efficiency.
