The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an outstanding candidate to become its new Chief Operational Information Officer. This is an exciting new role and aims to strengthen and sustain the important bridge between informatics and our clinical operational teams.

We have taken a significant step forward in our digital maturity in the past year through the implementation of a new electronic patient record system. We now have a fantastic opportunity to better understand our population, our patients, our processes and how we can support our teams to deliver high quality and efficient care.

If you are an ambitious and innovative leader who wants an opportunity to make a real difference to our patients and those who deliver our services, please do get in touch.

Main duties of the job

You will be a member of the triumvirate leadership of the Department of Clinical and Operational Informatics, working alongside the Chief Clinical Information Officer and the Chief Nursing Information Officer. You will be responsible for the delivery of robust information management, clinical coding, performance and data quality functions to support the delivery of both day-to-day operational management and longer term strategic planning.

The successful candidate will have a passion for translating data into insights that clinical and operational teams can use to drive improvements in the quality and efficiency of the care that they deliver. You will work closely with our Associate Directors of Operations, providing both support and critical friend challenge to ensure plans are driven by evidence and benefits can be quantified. In addition to supporting members of the Royal Surrey team, you will take a leading role in the realisation of our joint ambition to deliver a joined-up view of health and care across Surrey Heartlands Health and Care Partnership.
