Job description
Job responsibilities
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to lead on medicine based simulation and help develop our SIM programme, with opportunity for leadership and development of new projects.
The Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit works as part of the Emergency Floor as an assessment and treatment area. Its purpose is to facilitate admission avoidance for those patients who previously would have been admitted to the hospital. Patients are seen from the Emergency Department; GPs referring into Speciality teams and other clinical areas of the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust.
It is an exciting time to join our team. We are undergoing a redevelopment of the Emergency Floor which will transform the way we deliver Emergency and Urgent care to our local population. The team is flexible, welcomes new ideas and the Trusts focus is on empowering clinical leadership.
The RSCH Postgraduate Education Centre has an active Simulation Department, with state of the art Simulation equipment from the latest Simman 3G from laerdal that can be fully ventilated (the first in Europe) allowing very high fidelity simulation training and teaching. Furthermore in-situ simulation and mobile equipment has allowed us to expand the reach of our simulation teaching.
We have an active Simulation program for Medical Students, Foundation trainees and Anaesthetics/ICU along with subspecialty simulation in Paediatrics and Obstetrics. We have previously developed and ran a regional registrar ready course for CMT2 trainees which was deanery funded and approved. This was very well received and we are hoping to expand the reach of this course.
Please refer to the full job description attached for more details.
