Job summary
Our diverse and inclusive Pharmacy is looking for a self-motivated and forward thinking individual to join our Inpatient Pharmacy dispensary team. We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated individual to help manage and develop our inpatient dispensary services.
You will need to demonstrate strong leadership skills, managing staff, and a keen interest in providing an efficient and high quality service.
Working alongside our existing Lead Dispensary Technician and other pharmacy managers to provide training and development opportunities for staff of all grades, whilst promoting a patient-focused, multidisciplinary approach to ensure the delivery of an efficient and high quality inpatient dispensary service.
We are committed to develop your leadership and management skills and support participation in Mary Seacole or other leadership training.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate should:
- Be able to demonstrate working knowledge of the dispensary and skill to lead a team under the supervision of the Chief Pharmacy Technician Pharmacy Operations
- Have good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Be self-motivated and flexible in your approach to work and meet the requirements for our service.
- Lead, motivate and supervise a team of registered and support staff.
- Plan and co-ordinate the dispensary workload, including prioritising activities to respond to changing circumstances, allocating resources where necessary.
- Ensure training needs of dispensary staff are met in conjunction with the pharmacy education team.
- Oversee HR management of staff including absence, leave appraisals and 1-2-1 meetings.
You will be required to participate in evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.
