Job summary

We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic clinical audit Facilitator to join a well-established Quality Governance team.

Your main role will be to support the Trust and its clinicians in the facilitation of a wide range of clinical audit activity and you will be a key member of the Trusts Quality Governance Department. The post holder will support a wide range of work from mandatory national audits to locally identified audits. Support for compliance with national guidance (NICE guidance) will also be part of this role. The post holder will have responsibility for supporting audit for specific divisions.

Main duties of the job

As an Audit Facilitator, you will have a good awareness of the concepts of clinical audit and effectiveness and of the general quality governance agenda within the NHS. You will have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing and will need to be able to analyse and clearly present complex data. You will be expected to work closely with clinicians and staff across the Trust and should have a flexible, team player approach to your work.

The post is based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital main site but there may be a requirement to travel to some of our community sites.

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) which supports a good knowledge base of clinical audit processes and the analysis and presentation of data.

  • Previous experience of working in a clinical audit, effectiveness or governance department
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the clinical audit process and the link between audit and quality governance
  • Understanding of the role of NICE guidance in the health service
  • Experience of complex data analysis and interpretation skills, including the production of detailed written reports.

Desirable

  • Experience of reviewing, analysing national audit reports and implementing action plans
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
