Band 2 Healthcare Assistant

As a leading provider of NHS Services in Surrey, we are passionate about supporting our staff to fulfil their true potential.

To help us achieve this we need to grow our team of Healthcare Support Workers across Royal Surrey Hospitals including, St Lukes Cancer Centre and our Community Hospitals, with both full time, part time and bank positions available.

In this vital care support role, youll develop professional healthcare experience, gain a formal qualification and be part of the nursing team working hands-on in a hospital environment.

We have opportunities across all areas of the Trust including Theatres, Ophthalmology, ITU, Medical & Surgical wards.

Main duties of the job

Being a Healthcare Support Worker

You'll provide a variety of care and support for hospital patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Clinical tasks, like collecting samples, swabs and recording patients fluid intake/output.
  • Ensuring patients safety and comfort, supporting them with daily activities, including helping them to eat, drink and maintain personal hygiene, and using equipment to move and assist in your care of them.
  • Observing temperature, pulse and blood pressure, maintaining patient records and reporting any abnormalities to senior colleagues.

Your Training, Development & Progression

Training is provided in both the classroom and the hospital, for those with limited or no experience, this is athree week fulltime course. If you have previous experience you may be eligible for our6 day Fulltime Fast Track.

If successful you will be invited to attend a HCA Assessment Centre on 23th June 2023.

Please note you will be asked to bring three forms of original ID to the assessment centre.
