Job summary
The Clinical
Fellow will be expected to work supporting the resident consultant/middle-grade
rota, with the Clinical Director in Paediatrics and Consultants to promote the
highest standards in paediatric medical care. He/she will be expected to:
Work with the lead
administrator/secretary, other clinicians and link with
community services. Promote and
develop improved multi-disciplinary and
multi-agency services for children
Promote the team approach to
childrens care, having due regard for the linking
of acute, community, social,
education and voluntary services.
Partake in appraisal and
revalidation
We have
regular student placements from Southampton. The post-holder will be expected
to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
Main duties of the job
This Clinical Fellow
post in General Paediatrics is at ST 3-8 level. It includes working alongside a
well-established team of 14 consultants, 4 Associate Specialists, 3 ST3 -8
paediatric trainees, a Trust Doctor and a Medical Trainee International, as
well as 9 SHOs comprising an F2, a paediatric trainee (ST 1-3) and 7 GPST 1-2
trainees. This post would be suitable for paediatricians who would like
experience in the NHS, with prior experience of general Paediatrics and
Neonatology.
