Lead Nurse Pain Service
Band 8a Full time (Part-time opportunities may be considered) Maternity cover until September 2024.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified, experienced and motivated Lead Nurse within our Pain Service.
Working as part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will help to develop and deliver all aspects of our acute and chronic pain service providing clinical leadership to nursing staff and expert professional advice to other healthcare professionals, patients and carers.
Reporting to the Divisional Head of Nursing, the successful applicant will be an expert in pain management and be able to provide nursing leadership of pain services through clinical expertise, education and service development. You will also ensure safe governance in the use of pain management techniques; develop and monitor standards within the service and promote best practice in the provision of training and education.
You will need to show evidence of masters-level study relating to pain and ideally need to be a Nurse Independent Prescriber or show that you are working towards this.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will become an integral part of the pain team who strive to ensure a coordinated and multi-professional approach to diagnosis, treatment, planning and care provision for all patients and their families. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work alone as well as with the multidisciplinary team to deliver the highest standard of care.
