Job summary

Enthusiastic applications are invited to apply for the role of a Patent Administration Clerk based within the SLCC Booking Office and Support team. The post holder will be responsible for undertaking a variety of comprehensive administrative tasks in order to ensure the team provide high quality support to the clinical services.

Working within an admin team of 12 who are engaged in dealing with the full range of patient pathway details encompassing registration of patient details, booking and rescheduling of appointments through to recording of clinic attendances

St Lukes Cancer Centre offers a comprehensive range of Oncological services covering a catchment population of 1.3m people across Surrey, West Sussex and West Hampshire. The department provides various services to Oncology patients including outpatient clinics, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, haematological oncology and medical physics and is supported by Palliative Care and the Fountain Centre Charity.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to hold excellent communication and organisational skills with a good understanding of IT systems.

We are currently recruiting into the team and are looking for individuals who will enjoy working in a busy, interesting, varied environment, ideally with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills along with the aptitude to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, GPs and referring hospitals. The successful applicants will be proactive team members and will be involved in both telephone and electronic systems work including taking and making patent phone calls, dealing with referrals via post and electronically via generic e-mail and IT systems The successful candidate will be customer service focused offer demonstrable and efficient administration skills combined with a can do and will do attitude in order to ensure the provision of effective delivery for the Oncology Service. Previous administration experience combined with customer service skills ideally in a clinical environment would be an advantage however training will be provided.
