Job summary

Surrey and Borders is looking for an Community Psychiatric Nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care needs of a specific group of people who use our services. This role will also involve mentoring, supervising and teaching qualified and unqualified staff including students.

Location : Unither House, Curfew Bell Rd, Chertsey KT16 9FG

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM

Main duties of the job

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of service users and create individualized care plans.

  • Manage a caseload and deliver effective keyworker responsibilities.

  • Establish and maintain therapeutic, collaborative relationships with service users, carers, and stakeholders.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with service users, families, colleagues, and external partners.

  • Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in line with policy.

  • Lead and contribute to service standards, audits, performance monitoring, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Undertake risk assessments, implement risk management plans, and respond appropriately to crises.

  • Safeguard vulnerable adults and children in accordance with policies and procedures.

  • Support and guide team members, acting as a role model for support workers and new staff.

  • Engage in clinical supervision, ongoing training, and personal/professional development.

  • Contribute to recruitment, induction, and performance management processes.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, confidentiality, and organizational policies.
