Job summary

The Royal Surrey Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting enthusiastic, innovative Band 5 Midwives to join their team.

Midwives who are able to meet the challenge of delivering high standards of care and are ensuring that each woman's journey to motherhood is an individualised experience. The candidate must be willing and able to work both in the hospital and community setting as part of a continuity of care team, ensuring that women receive the BEST care available during their pregnancy and post natal period.

You must hold NMC midwifery registration.

You will be expected to be able to show evidence of current practice/updating.

Main duties of the job

The Registered Midwife will work as a member of the ward/department team, delivering midwifery care throughout the pregnancy continuum in the maternity unit or community settings to women and babies. The post-holder will be expected to join a continuity of carer team providing this model of care to women across a 7 day service including night duties.

After appropriate skills assessment, the post holder will be expected to act appropriately in emergency situations involving mother and baby. The midwife will take charge of the ward/department/team, in the absence of more senior staff. The midwife will be committed to achieving the Trust's targets regarding the Government's public health agenda.
