Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Radiology management team as the Support Services Lead. We are looking for a team player to lead our large admin team and work alongside the management team to help improve efficiency and patient experience within the Radiology department.
You will be responsible for managing the administration and clerical staff across the Radiology departments. This will include our medical secretaries, main admin office, Ultrasound, CT, MRI and our community sites.
The role will require excellent communication and organisational skills. Previous leadership and people management experience is essential.
You will be responsible for standardising the administration processes across all radiology sites. To ensure that the team provides a high standard of patient care and customer experience associated with the appointment booking, attendance and receiving of reports.
You will work with the Radiology Services Manager and information team to ensure close management of the service demands, service delivery and identify changing trends and challenges. As part of the radiology management team you will be responsible for driving change, monitoring service provision and adapting to new technologies.
The department comprises of general x-ray rooms, A+E, CT, MRI, ultrasound department, fluoroscopy, Interventional suite, maxillo-facial unit and mammography.
This position is a temporary term to cover maternity leave for up to 12 months.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the administration and secretarial teams across Radiology.Currently comprising of:MRI x 3 staffCT x 3 staffMedical Secretaries x 2 staffUltrasound x 4 staffPlain Film x 2 staffMammography/IR x 2 staffReception team x 2 staffCommunity admin team x 4 staff across 3 sites.
Be responsible for a high quality and comprehensive administrative service to the Consultants and Radiology Services Manager, ensuring Trust standards are adhered to in relation to all documentation and data input and all information governance legislation compliances are met
Provide an efficient and responsive clerical, administration and secretarial support service to radiology including the RSCH and Community Sites.
To have the knowledge and expertise to ensure that all administrative duties align with national guidelines. To ensure that patients appointments are booked according to their clinical and pathway priority and reports are provided as per local policy.
Ensure stringent stock control measures are in place to maintain relevant administrative resources within the budget allocated
