Job summary

We have an opportunity for you to join our dynamic physiotherapy team, working on the inpatient wards at Milford Community Hospital, as a physiotherapy assistant practitioner for a 12 month fixed term contract. We may be able to offer this post as a band 3 to 4 development, for the right candidate.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, health care assistants, doctors, discharge co-ordinators and pharmacists.

We would welcome applications from candidates who are enthusiastic, have a strong desire to learn and are keen to provide an excellent service. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, has good communication and organisational skills and is an excellent team worker.

We are a friendly team of therapists who work together to provide a dynamic and pro-active service to our patients. You will be a key member of the physiotherapy team and will work under supervision and guidance of trained physiotherapists, to provide exercise and mobility rehabilitation, and assist with administrative tasks and information gathering. You will be supported to engage in service development and encouraged to put forward suggestions as to how we can continue to improve and grow the services we offer.

Full training will be provided to ensure you are well supported and a competency framework will be used to ensure you have the appropriate skills to assist with physiotherapy treatments. We offer regular formal and informal supervision, and in house training.

  • NVQ 3 level 3 equivalent of knowledge and experience
  • Portfolio evidence of relevant experience/ CPD in specialist field.

Knowledge

  • Able to work on own initiative and recognise when to seek assistance
  • Broad experience of working as a Band 3 Occupational Therapy/ Physiotherapy Technical Instructor.
  • NHS experience within acute &/or community setting
  • Recent experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team, with an understanding of roles and responsibilities of the team.
