Job summary
The Royal Surrey County Hospital would like to advertise the position of Senior Upper Limb Clinical Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedics. The post is designed for applicants with an interest in upper limb surgery approaching consultant level applications. Role to commence 1st October 2025 for a period of 12 Months fixed term.
The post holder would gain clinical and operative experience in upper limb surgery. They would be expected to join the on-call rota, 1in 11 non resident on-call, with the existing registrar body. They would participate in ward, clinic and operating lists in conjunction with a supervising consultant and independently in their absence. The unit offers a range of arthroscopic and open procedures within the specialty of upper limb surgery.
The successful candidate would be expected to contribute to audit, research and training within the orthopaedic department. The hospital has access to the MATTU facility, in which to conduct research and development.The Trauma and Orthopaedic department.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work within the orthopedics department under the supervision of the existing upper limb surgeons; Mr Andrew Keightley, Mr Anthony Hearnden, Mr Sean Hughes and Mr James Logan.
This would consist of an elective practice of shoulder / elbow surgery and hand / wrist surgery with additional upper limb trauma sessions.
