Job summary
The Oral and Maxillofacial Unit at the Royal Surrey Hospital (NHS FT) is looking to appoint an Oral and Maxillofacial Consultant to join the team. This would initially be a fixed term position for 12 months with a potential for substantive appointment following this.
The post holder will have an interest in and experience of the management of all aspects of OMFS pathology. The role will primarily focus on the management of skin cancer, trauma, odontogenic lesions and complex dentoalveolar surgery. Candidates with a special interest area, such as Head and Neck Surgery or TMJ are invited to apply as there may be opportunity to develop these further dependant on the skills or interests of the applicant There will be an on call commitment associated with this post.
The Royal Surrey is proud to have an enthusiastic and dynamic team of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons who share the common goal of providing excellent clinical care. The department is a Regional referral unit for Oral and Maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) from hospitals in North Hampshire and North/ West Surrey. The team manages the full breadth of pathology associated with OMFS.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the existing team of Oral and Maxillofacial Consultants, SAS Doctors, Resident Doctors and Dental Core Trainees and provide outpatient clinics, GA and LA operating lists as well as on call provision within the unit, the details of which can be found in the attached Job Description.
