Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic doctor at the ST1-ST4 level to join the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust as an Undergraduate Clinical Teaching Fellow. The position has been created to enhance the teaching of Medical and Physician Associate (PA) students, with employment expected to commence on August 6th, 2025.
The Trust plays a significant role in medical student teaching for students from City St George's, University of London and Southampton University; and PA students from the University of Surrey. From September 2025 the Trust will also be welcoming Year 2 students from the new University of Surrey Medical School which had its first intake of students in September 2024.
Main duties of the job
50% of the post holder's time will be spent on undergraduate teaching activities as well as time for CPD from Monday to Friday inclusive, with a view to commencing employment on 6 August 2025.
The remaining 50% of time will be used for clinical work to develop the individual's career. The main clinical work will involve the Inpatient Older Persons Assessment and Liaison (iOPAL) service working alongside the Ageing and Health team. The successful candidate will be supervised by a Consultant from the iOPAL Team for their clinical work.
Successful completion of a formal post-graduate qualification such as the PG Cert in Education is expected as part of the role (if the successful candidate does not already possess an equivalent qualification). The successful candidate will be allocated funds for the cost of the PG Cert.
