Job summary
We are looking to recruit to two permanent Trust Doctor vacancies within our Trauma and Orthopaedics department. This role will include a mix of orthopaedic clinics, theatre and ward based work, covering both elective admissions and trauma.
The post holder would work within the orthopaedic department under the supervision of our consultants. They would be expected to join the on-call rota, 1 in 11 non-resident on-call, with the existing registrar body. They would participate in ward, clinic and operating lists in conjunction with a supervising consultant and independently in their absence.
The successful candidate would be expected to contribute to audit, research and training within the orthopaedic department. The hospital has access to the MATTU facility, in which to conduct research and development.
Main duties of the job
It is anticipated that the successful applicant will have experience in aspects of elective orthopaedic surgery as well as trauma surgery. They will participate in operating lists, elective clinics and ward duties to help provide a service in the management of elective orthopaedic patients.
The post holder, in conjunction with consultant and senior colleagues, will be expected to play a full part in the out-of-hours on-call service and associated trauma. They will participate in trauma lists, fracture clinics and ward duties to help provide a service in the management of orthopaedic trauma patients.
In addition to clinical commitments the successful applicant would be expected to participate in the training of other junior trainees. There are plenty of teaching
