Main duties of the job
The Pharmacy Education & Development Team at the Royal Surrey actively seeks to innovate the delivery of training programmes, including developing and launching multi-sector training programmes for both trainee pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. You will work closely with the other members of the Pharmacy Education & Development Team in a supportive environment to further build your skills and develop your expertise in pharmacy education and development. You will have the opportunity to build relationships with stakeholders, both within the trust and regionally, to develop training programmes in line with national requirements, at an exciting time when we are in the midst of implementing the recent reforms in initial education and training standards for pharmacists.

Essential
- Hold Masters degree in pharmacy or equivalent and 1 year pre-registration training
- Educational Supervisor Training (or willing to undertake)
Desirable
- Hold Post-graduate Diploma in general pharmacy practice or equivalent experience
Knowledge
Essential
- Professional knowledge acquired through vocational Masters degree in pharmacy (4 years) or equivalent
- Post-registration hospital experience
- Good core therapeutic knowledge and clinical skills as gained through post-graduate diploma or equivalent experience
- Experience of providing a safe, effective ward based (or other equivalent) pharmacy service
- Demonstrates high level of clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning and judgement; manages difficult and ambiguous problems
- Experience of providing regular medicines information to patients and healthcare professionals
- Experience of working effectively within multidisciplinary groups
- Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development to meet GPhC requirements
- Previous experience of training/teaching/mentoring staff

- Experience of training qualified and trainee staff and other health care professionals in a formal one-to-one and/or group setting
- Experience as a mentor / educational supervisor
