Job summary

We have a vacancy for a Service Manager in our Community Care Co-ordination Administration Services based at Milford hospital. Do you have previous management or team lead skills? Or are you looking for a development opportunity as a band 4 to develop into a band 5 role?

As our Administration Service Manager you will provide leadership, management and support for our administration team. You will ensure the team delivers the required administration services to the CCC and clinical services daily, working with both administration and clinical staff. You will use your leadership skills to develop a cohesive team culture,that embraces positive thinking and development.

As the service manager you will lead by example and will take an active role within the team processing referral calls and undertaking other administration tasks, you will need good IT skills to deliver this role.

You will have opportunity to use a variety of people management skills within the role.

Main duties of the job

This is a busy and fast paced role as we are never certain how many referrals we receive per day or the scope of the patients health needs .You will need to be able to prioritise tasks and keep track of unfinished tasks, so will you need good personal organizational skills.

You will be working closely with our other service managers as well as our clinical & administration staff.

Candidates will need to be forward thinking and have a problem solving approach, with excellent communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.

This is an exciting role and will give the post holder scope to be actively involved in the future development of our community services

  • Educated to degree or higher diploma level OR equivalent level of experience of working as a supervisor or manager in administration area
  • High level of knowledge computer applications ECDL certificate
  • Demonstrate team lead or customer care knowledge or training through short or long courses

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Experience in managing or supervising staff /team
  • Experience of using range of IT applications including exce and Microsoft applications , computerised patient management systems
  • Good level of competency in word processing and keyboard skills
  • Able to concentrate for set periods of time on set tasks and deal with interruptions
  • Previous experience working in health or social care

Desirable

  • Experience of planning rotas and staff allocation
