Job summary

To assist a high quality catering services to staff patients and visitor you will be part of a well-established team preparing quality food liaising daily with team leader / supervisor and managers to ensure a first class catering service is provided to all patients' staff and visitors.

Main duties of the job

To provide a clean and safe environment through the delivery of a quality cleaning and food and beverage services, in compliance with the Trust procedures and policies. To actively promote good communication links and customer service between Hotel Services and staff, patients and visitors.

Good basic education - reading and writing, plus basic numeric skills
Knowledge of various catering tasks and the ability to perform manual catering tasks
Experience of a kitchen environment

Desirable

Food safety level 2
NVQ level 2 in food safety or 6 months experience in a kitchen

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

Good interpersonal skills - able to communicate with department staff and work colleagues in a courteous and sensitive manner

Desirable

Formal work experience in a healthcare environment
Experience in using catering machinery
Experience in meal services
