The
Role:
The Stock
Controller position will have a
pivotal role within the Material Management Department.
Provide a
professional, customer focused Supply Chain service to all user departments.
Professionally handle customer enquiries and work with internal and external
customers to provide advice and support to their enquiries, ensuring their
needs are responded to and met.

Provide
stock control, including stock rotation, re-ordering and replenishment service
for an agreed range of consumables used by customers and to support end users
in accordance with HPL and Trust policies. Ensure safe disposal and/or
relocation of surplus, redundant and obsolete stock.
Participate
and assist in stock takes, year-end counts and amendments as required.
Ensure
that orders are expedited, chased and delivered on time.
Ensure
personal training and development is up to date at all times.
Assist
the Receipt and Distribution team as required.
Participate
in implementation of new projects.
Cover in
other Inventory Management areas as required in case of sickness or annual
leave.
Undertaking any other tasks which are deemed
appropriate by the Supervisors, Supply Chain Manager or Director of
Procurement.

Job responsibilities
1. JOB PURPOSE
The Stock Controller
will be:
Working under the supervision of the
Stock Control Supervisor and will be responsible in the development and
maintenance of the agreed Inventory and Supply Chain management services using HPL
and the Trusts Inventory Management System (IMS).
Procurement and Inventory Management
support for the Trusts Global Standards (GS1) and Scan4Safety project.
Procurement and Inventory Management
support on business continuity and emergency planning, which will involve
ordering of emergency goods and services.
Providing a comprehensive interface for
colleagues who receive an Inventory Management Service.
Ensuring stock is maintained at the
appropriate level using the IMS.
Providing the service to the Trust. The
Stock Controller will need to be able to drive their own vehicle between sites
and, on occasion, move small stock items between the sites.
The post requires the ability for frequent
prolonged periods of concentration with the ability to respond and deal with
complex and urgent situations as they arise. The postholder should be able to
work on their own initiative, working independently with minimal supervision.
2. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
