Job summary
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated substantive Consultant Radiologist specialising in Hepatobiliary Imaging.
This is a 10 programmed activity full time post and is subject to the terms andconditions of the new consultant contract. Any applicants wishing to work part-timeor as a job-share will be considered and family friendly policies are in place.

You will be joining our friendly supportive team of 22 Consultants, 5 Registrars, 83 radiographers, 24 nursing and assistant staff and 25 administrators.
Our Diagnostic Strategy includes expanding our services and resources of both staff and equipment within this hospital and in the community, which will in turn support career progression of our staff.
There has been substantial investment in radiology and in the last 12 months, our capital projects have included a fantastic MRI suite with the latest patient experience environment and incorporating 2 Philips MRI scanners, a 1.5T and a 3T both with Acquisition Acceleration Technology.
Main duties of the job
- In conjunction with other Consultant and Senior colleagues, to provide a service in general radiology, in particular MRI, CT and Ultrasound for cancer and potential cancer
- In conjunction with other Consultant and Senior colleagues, to provide image guided procedures including US and CT guided drains, soft tissue biopsies including lymph node and liver biopsies as well as fluorosocpic studies.
- To provide radiological reports and investigations as required by the clinical director. This will include general as well as specialist radiology.
- To provide cover for Consultant and Senior colleagues in respect of periods of leave, including MDT cover.
- In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to take part in medical audit and research as appropriate.
- In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met.
- To ensure that there are adequate arrangements for hospital staff involved in the care of your patients to be able to contact you when necessary.
- To provide radiological cover at other sites, currently including Haslemere, Cranleigh and Milford.
- To work in accordance with Ionising Radiations (Medical Equipment) Regulations 2000 observing Radiation Standard Operating Procedures, Trust policies, Departmental Protocols and Local Rules.
