Job description

Job responsibilities

The Medical Records Department at the Royal Surrey County Hospital are currently advertising for individuals to join our busy and active team on a part time basis. The role will be for a minimum of 15 hours per week and a maximum of 20 hours per week working either 4pm to 8pm or 5pm to 8pm Monday to Friday.

We are responsible for the day to day management of all the patient medical notes, this includes the delivery, collection and preparation of notes for all inpatient and outpatient appointments as well as emergency admissions.

The service we provide is vital to the hospital and as such we are looking for conscientious, reliable and hardworking individuals. You will also need to use your initiative, customer focus and sensitivity in order to locate notes and solve other issues and problems on a daily basis.

The role is very physical, successful candidates may spend most of the day on their feet either walking around the hospital or in the library collecting or filing notes from the shelves. We also deliver notes so you may be required to push a trolley of notes around the hospital.

Attention to detail is essential as well as a positive attitude and a desire to see jobs through to a conclusion; we go the extra mile in order to get notes delivered and to ensure that patient care is not restricted as a result of notes being unavailable at time of clinic.

Experience is not essential however confidence and tenacity are, so if you feel that have a good level of verbal and written skills, have an eye for detail and want to contribute to best possible patient experience please apply.

For more information and an informal discussion about the role please telephone Vitor Conceicao on 01483 571122 extension 2032 or v.conceicao1@nhs.net.
