Job summary
We are looking for a motivated and personable Corporate Governance Manager to join our team. The postholder will support delivery of the highest standards of corporate governance in the Trust, ensuring compliance with the regulatory framework, Trust licence, relevant legislation and Trust Constitution. They will provide comprehensive support to the Board of Directors and Council of Governors, and manage the organisation and governance of Committees to ensure efficient and effective running.
The postholder is expected to work on their own authority and initiative, prioritising their own time to ensure that deadlines are met, and work in close collaboration with the Head of Corporate Governance, Corporate Governance Officer, Chair, Governors, Non-Executive Directors, CEO, Executive Directors, Executive PAs, and partnership organisations. The post holder must be able to embrace working in a dynamic and demanding office environment, while maintaining a high level of focus and attention to detail on specific tasks.
Main duties of the job
The postholder must:
- Be educated to post-graduate level or have equivalent work experience;
- Be a member of the Corporate Governance Institute UK & Ireland;
- Have excellent communication, organisation, and administration skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint effectively, and take meeting minutes;
- Be able to work with a high level of autonomy, and manage your time effectively to meet deadlines.
Additional Information
This is a full-time role with Monday-Friday working hours. The postholder may be required to work unsocial hours on an occasional basis in order to facilitate meetings.
This role is based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital (Guildford hospital site). Hybrid working may be considered in line with the Trust's flexible working policy.
