Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our small team of Housekeepers at Haslemere Hospital. Our Housekeeping service provides a high standard of cleanliness across the hospital in line with the National Specification for Cleanliness in Hospitals.

The successful candidates will have experience of cleaning, beverage and meals serving, storing cleaning products, be patient focused, possess high cleaning standards, have excellent communication skills, and have a flexible and adaptable approach and work well within a team. Ideally you will have worked in a patient environment and possess good inter-personal skills with patients and relatives.

Main duties of the job

Your role will also be responsible for cleaning departments and ward areas, to meet the needs of patients.

Essential

  • Good basic education - reading and writing, plus basic numeric skills.
  • Knowledge of various cleaning tasks and the ability to perform manual cleaning tasks.
  • Experience of cleaning/domestic work

Desirable

  • NVQ level 2in Customer Care
  • NVQ level 2 in Cleaning and Support Services

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Good interpersonal skills - able to communicate with department staff and work colleagues in a courteous and sensitive manner
