Job summary

To support Business Partner Teams in the provision of a specialised, responsive and consistent HR service to care groups and corporate directorates. This service will focus on employee relations matters, terms and conditions of service and related workforce initiatives through a business partner model. To work within Trust policies/procedures and employment law under supervision, but at times autonomously, taking advice from senior colleagues as required.

Main duties of the job

To advise on individual employee relations cases within the divisions and directorates, providing HR advice and support to managers as and when required, ensuring all relevant activity linked to individual cases is fed into the Departmental HR Database. To ensure accurate and timely data entry to facilitate accurate and effective reporting.

To support the HR Business Partner Team in implementing the Trust's corporate initiatives on local pay and conditions, job evaluation, skill mix and workforce planning, ensuring achievement of action plans within the Business Partner Team.

To be involved in the development and maintenance of effective human resource policies and procedures, where appropriate. Refining policies and procedures to reflect changing organisational needs and impending legislation as required.

We have a great opportunity for the right person to join our HR Business Partner Team to cover up to 11 month period of maternity leave.

As an HR Advisor, you will be key to supporting our HR Business Partners and Trust Managers on a wide range of HR matters including employee relations, policy guidance and Trust process. You must have the ability to quickly establish effective working relationships and be able to cope in a busy operational environment, prioritising conflicting demands. You will be great at communicating and will approach your work in a pragmatic and organised way. You will also be committed to delivering a high standard of HR service. CIPD level 5 is preferred but not essential. We may also be able to consider a B4-B5 development pathway for the right individual.

  • CIPD level 5 or working towards

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in HR in a multi-skilled professional and unionised environment
  • Delivery of a customer facing generalist HR service
  • A working knowledge of employment law, current and pending legislation and EU directives
  • Employee relations case management knowledge including disciplinary, capability and absence management
  • Thorough understanding of the importance of confidentiality, data protection and information governance

Desirable

  • NHS or other healthcare experience
  • Experience of supporting and implementing organisational change
