This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative and dynamic team responsible for cancer services across Surrey and Sussex. The Surrey and Sussex Cancer Alliance is a partnership that brings together leaders from different hospital trusts and other health and social organisation and covers a population of approx. 3.1 million people. Our aim is to improve the diagnosis and treatment and care outcomes for cancer patients in Surrey and Sussex.

The Surrey and Sussex Cancer Alliance is looking to recruit a Data Analyst who will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the Cancer Transformation Programme.

We are looking for a high calibre individual with sound analytic skills, who is technically competent, gives attention to detail, used to working with large data sets, is good at problem solving and has the ability to create 'information' from 'data'. The role is varied covering data analysis, reporting and developing analytics to support the Cancer Agenda and assessing performance data.

Main duties of the job

  • Conduct high-quality analysis using quantitative techniques to address the key lines of enquiry investigating and resolving highly complex trends by ensuring that findings are reconciled and triangulated against local intelligence and support regular interpretation and reporting of results in an appropriate manner
  • Have demonstrable experience of processing and manipulating large quantities of data, operating within the national information governance framework, to facilitate timely analysis to inform monitoring and assessment of impact against key performance indicators (outcome measures)
  • Support in the regular delivery of highly accurate reports, researching and drafting correspondence and papers and ensuring the management of specific tasks and analysis across a range of specialties, functions and projects.
  • Have good project management skills, including the ability to plan, juggle competing priorities and tight deadlines for themselves
  • Be a clear communicator with excellent written and presentation skills; capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately to a diverse and varied range of audiences consisting of internal and external stakeholders
