An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with interest in colposcopy/vulvoscopy, gynae two-week rule clinics as well as general Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The post holder will join the existing team of fourteen consultants based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford and will be a part of the Two Week Rule/Colposcopy team. The main aim of this post is to support the growing colposcopy/vulvoscopy services and the gynae two week clinic.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will join our team of
consultants in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with a specific focus on
colposcopy/vulvoscopy and supporting Two week rule gynae clinics.
The post holder will work closely with Miss
Vandana Panwar, Two Week Rule Lead to support the TWR services and with Mr
Andrew Kent to support the Colposcopy services.
The postholder will participate in
Colposcopy/Vulvoscopy MDTs and provide cover for Gynae-oncology TWR MDT when
the lead TWR clinican is away.

- Evidence of broad training in both obstetrics and gynaecology
- Evidence of running Colposcopy clinics independently
- Evidence of experience in management of Labour Ward and ability to independently manage obstetric emergencies
- Knowledge and understanding of CTG interpretation
- Perform appropriate surgery for emergency gynaecology
- Independently manage women with early pregnancy complications
Desirable
- Experience of multidisciplinary team working, esp with gynae-oncology
- Experience of running vulval clinics and two week rule clinics
- Outpatient Hysteroscopy (diagnostic and operative)
Qualifications
Essential
- Full registration and a license to practice with the GMC
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Emergency Medicine (or relevant specialty) via CCT, CESR or European Community Rights or due to CCT within 6 months of interview
- MRCOG
- Evidence of training, experience and independent practice in Obstetrics, General Gynaecology.
- BSCCP Colposcopy Certification or equivalent
- Evidence of training, experience and independent practice in Obstetrics, General Gynaecology.
Desirable
- ATSM in Benign Gynaecological Surgery (Hysteroscopy)
- ATSM in Vulval disease
- ATSM in Advanced Labour Ward Practice
- Intermediate Gynaecology ultrasound module or equivalent
Research and Quality Improvement
Essential
- Experience of research, particularly in collaboration with other clinicians
- Willingness to continue participation in research
- Good Clinical Practice Course
Desirable
- Achieved a higher research degree e.g., MD(Res)/PhD
- Publications/abstracts/international presentations in Obstetrics Publication in peer reviewed journals
- Ability to supervise postgraduate research
