Main duties of the job
We are seeking to appoint an individual of the highest calibre to work in Urgent & Emergency Care managing the 4 different Reception teams across the floor. The role is crucial in supporting the delivery of a 24/7 service with patient safety at its heart. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing between 25-30 members of staff across four teams and will be responsible for covering UEC Reception areas 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, including organising short notice cover.
The ideal candidate will have management experience in the NHS and be able to demonstrate a contribution to the achievement of difficult targets as well as experience implementing change in previous roles. You will have superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage your time effectively. Y ou will have the ability to develop excellent working relationships at every level and possess strong communication and leadership skills. You will be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and produce results to tight deadlines. Previous rota management experience would be beneficial.

- Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
- NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in Business / Management
- Evidence of significant personal development
Desirable
- NVQ Level 5 Business / Management Certificate
- ECDL or equivalent
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Knowledge of administrative procedures,
- Experience of managing / developing teams
- Experience of recruitment and retention of staff
- Previous supervisory experience and general office experience
- Experience in developing and effectively managing staffing timetables and rotas
- Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
- Previously worked in a similar role within the NHS
- Detailed knowledge of the service requirements & current issues with emergency care
- A sound understanding of Equal Opportunities.
- Able to attend and participate in all essential training events to enhance continued personal development
- Willingness to complete studies as required to meet service delivery requirements
- Evidence of continued personal development
- Knowledge of project principles e.g. use DECDODER in running projects
