Job summary
To be the first point of contact for people attending the ward or on the telephone and directing them to the appropriate place. To keep electronic admissions and discharges up to date. To ensure notes are appropriately filed.
Main duties of the job
To provide full administrative and clerical support to the ward team and medical staff. To be a full member of the ward team, and assist in the smooth running of the ward. The role is to be agreed with the senior sister to meet the needs of the service.

Are you a hardworking, organised person with clerical experience?
If so you may be the person we are looking for! We are looking for a receptionist/ward clerk to cover Sundays on our 23 bed Childrens Ward.
You will work under the direction of the nurse in charge to ensure all electronic admissions and discharges of patients are kept up to date, assist with the provision of the meal service, locate and file of patient notes. You will be the first point of contact for new patients either on the telephone or as they present to the reception. Training will be provided by our existing ward receptionists who provide cover on the rest of the week.
Ward Overview:
Hascombe ward has 23 inpatient beds/cubicles and a 6 bed assessment unit. We care for children from birth to 18 years with a variety of medical and surgical conditions, and those in mental health crisis. We have a fast flow of admissions and discharges from the main ward and within our assessment unit.
