Job summary
We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, experienced pharmacist to join our clinical pharmacy team as Principal Pharmacist for Acute Medicine.
The post holder will ensure excellent pharmaceutical care is provided to patients admitted under the medical division at the Royal Surrey Hospital, being responsible for services to ED, EAU, Cardiology, Respiratory, Endocrine and Gastroenterology. The post holder will work closely with the division ensuring value for money, delivery of CIPS and transformation, and good governance within the specialty, and will be supported by a number of band 8a pharmacists to do so.
Successful applicants will have significant hospital experience and be able to demonstrate consistent achievement in the areas outlined in the General Level Competency Framework. Specifically, the role requires a breadth of clinical experience across a variety of specialties, and experience of working closely with clinicians, driving change in practice and influencing at a high level.
Candidates should hold a Diploma in Pharmacy Practice (or equivalent). In addition, the post holder should either have achieved a further post graduate qualification or be keen to pursue this. You should be a team player with the ability to introduce change and have a proven track record of this.
This is a full-time post of 37.5 hours per week, however flexible working and job-share will be considered.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have experience in line managing of staff and supervision of trainee pharmacists and foundation pharmacists. The successful applicant will be required to participate in late night, weekend working and public holiday work.
The post holder is also required to participate in the training and development of others.
