Job summary
We have 2 vacant Assistant Psychologist posts in our Living Well Short-term Offer. These roles focus on the delivery of effective interventions for people with Complex Emotional Needs (CEN) in our Living Well Short-term offer. We are looking to provide 0.9 whole time equivalent (33.75h per week) across the High Peak and Dales Living Well teams and 1.0 whole time equivalent (37.5h per week) in the Northeast Derbyshire and Chesterfield Living Well teams (more hours may become available).
These posts are in variouslocations across Derbyshire including: Killamarsh, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Buxton, Matlock and Ashbourne. Please only apply once, locations will be discussed further at interview.
Main duties of the job
In the ERP we work with people with complex emotional needs (CEN) who often (though not always) have a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder.
The role offers opportunities to develop clinical intervention skills, gain experience in specialist and generic service models and develop clinical, audit and research skills.
You will improve the care of people with CEN by providing psychological assessment and interventions under the supervision of a qualified psychologist. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, working independently according to a plan agreed by your supervisor and within the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures. You will enhance other colleagues' understanding and awareness of psychological functioning, the impact of trauma and effective treatments. You will be involved in the delivery of the Managing Emotions Programme groupwork and Structured Psychological Support individual program.
The role also includes evaluation, collection of statistics, development of research projects and project work as discussed and agreed with your clinical supervisor and line manager.
