Job summary
This role is to help lead the Records Management team on a fixed term basis.
The Interim Records Lead is responsible for the management and performance of a team of specialist staff and the day to day running of the Trust Patient Records, Data Security & Protection (Information Governance) and Clinical Coding functions. This includes providing an effective records management service, ensuring appropriate access and security of patient records is maintained at all times.

Responsible for ensuring the Trust is fully compliant with the national Data Security & Protection requirements, completion and submission of the Data Security & Protection Toolkit. Compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) through acting as deputy for the Trust Data Protection Officer (DPO).
Responsible for the accurate classification of all patients requiring clinical coding for national analysis purposes.
Responsible to reviewing the current quality of the information held and implementing solutions to improve data quality.
Responsibility for investigating complex data quality issues, providing assistance and specialist advice to enable the development and implementation of improvements in data collection and data quality.
Representing and covering for the Interim IMT&R Lead (General Manager) as required and supporting the long-term plans and strategic direction of the Directorate.
Core membership and a lead contributor to the Data Security & Protection group agenda.
