Job summary
The Employee Relations Advisor will support and report to the Employee Relations Manager in ensuring a high-quality Employee Relations service is available to staff and managers at DHcFT. The role will ensure that employee relations practice is people centred, employee relations data and performance is tracked, employee relations policies are up to date, easy to use and compliant with legislation.
Main duties of the job
In addition, the role will provide advice, guidance, coaching and support for Managers in the wider organisation to support them in developing their own management and team capability to ensure it is responsive, agile and adaptive to changing demands and employment lifecycle both internally and externally. The role will support the running of people management workshops and ensure people management employee relations issues are addressed, in conjunction leaders and with the support of the Employee Relations Manager.
You will undertake effective implementation and operation of high-quality human resources practices in collaboration with service leads and the Employee Relations Manager, as necessary. Providing a people centred, accurate and proactive response to any Human Resource issues/problems arising, making a comprehensive assessment of the issue, providing clear advice for action and consideration of associated impact this may have. The focus of the role will be in advising on disciplinary and grievance concerns, supporting the management of staff absence sickness cases and guiding managers through performance improvement processes. There may be some exposure to management of change/TUPE programmes, but in such cases the Employee Relations Advisor will be fully supported and is not expected to be fully conversant in these areas.
