Community Mental Health - Olanzapine Depot Clinic

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Mental Health Nurse to join our Olanzapine Clinic .You will be part of a small and friendly team based within a Clinic Setting at the The Hub Radbourne Unit The role will include assisting with the running of the clinic and the administration/supervision of long acting Olanzapine injection.

The team works within a multi-disciplinary service and the role will be varied and will offer opportunities to work with service users suffering from a range of serious mental illnesses and dual diagnoses.

You will be supported in your clinical work and provided with effective supervision and relevant training.

Main duties of the job

1. To provide a comprehensive, accessible and responsive mental health services to adults within the local area.

2. To deliver physical health interventions to patients under the service.

3. To assist in the management of the depot clinic.

4. To administer long acting injection and facilitate the Olanzapine monitoring as per policy

5. To continually develop clinical, team and service evaluation and delivery of the service.

6. To contribute to effective multi-disciplinary working with the CMHT's and build effective liaison with community, primary and other secondary and tertiary services and agencies within the area.

7. To meet the changing demands of the service as required.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the principles of CPA (Care Programme Approach) where appropriate
  • Awareness of Nursing assessments and interventions and outcome measures, relevant to client group
  • Ability to travel across a large geographical area without compromising service delivery
