Job summary
We are currently seeking a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our Community Paediatric Physiotherapy Team on a fixed term basis.
Our wonderful team of Paediatric and Young Adult Specialist Physiotherapists would be delighted to help you to further your career in the exciting world of Children's Physiotherapy.
The successful applicant will be required to have previous experience in paediatrics, and to be able to lone work in a variety of settings including clinics, homes and educational settings (mainstream and specialist settings) in the City of Derby and Southern Derbyshire.
The service is forward thinking and supportive of new ideas. We operate flexible working arrangements. Regular supervision is provided and we encourage training and personal development. Access to transport is required and allowances are payable.
Main duties of the job
To manage a mixed caseload of children and young people within a community setting and provide physiotherapy assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of interventions. To provide physiotherapy advice to parents, carers and education settings leading to an effective package of care using clinical reasoning and evidence based/child centred principles, thus ensuring a quality service is delivered.
To supervise and teach technical instructors and students and provide clinical supervision for colleagues in order that all staff achieve their full potential.
To participate in planning and development of the service to ensure a quality service is delivered against national agendas.
To work closely with the multi-agency team to ensure physiotherapy is fully integrated into the child's care programme.
To deliver an age appropriate package of physiotherapy intervention for older children and young adults to support transition into adult services.

- To effectively manage a complex and diverse caseload using evidence based/child centred principles: including prioritisation; assessment, and intervention leading to a package of care designed to meet the childs needs in a range of settings.
