Based in the Derby City area, the successful candidate will lead a busy Clinical team and work alongside Clinical Leads, Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologist and an administrators; amongst others.

Our well established MDT offers a high quality assessment and home treatment service as an alternative to hospital admission, to individuals experiencing acute mental health crises. Working in partnership with patients, families and existing service providers, the team offers a range of interventions and approaches aimed at emphasizing hope and optimism, and developing personal strengths to help achieve recovery. The remit brings us into contact with patients with a range of mental health, social, psychological and situational difficulties from the diverse population of Derbyshire.

We are looking for an individual who shows compassion, who is engaging and focussed on service user and carer satisfaction as well as someone who is able to support our team through challenges and change.

You will also work with colleagues across our Urgent assessment Service line, including but not limited to our other Crisis Services throughout Derbyshire, Liaison Teams based in the Emergency Departments, and the Mental Health Helpline.

Main duties of the job

As a registered practitioner you are personally accountable for your professional practice and have a legal/professional responsibility to service users, colleagues, employers and self. You will operationally, clinically, and professionally advise and manage the Crisis and Home Treatment Service a whole and provide supervision to the team members. Through strong leadership they will ensure evidence-based practice is delivered to improve the quality of and shape responsive services. The post holder will be responsible for establishing operational and service mechanisms that support safe high quality care throughout the 24 hour period. You will present a professional image to promote a positive image to service users, carers and the community as a whole.

You will lead and continue to develop and manage the service within Derbyshire alongside partner agencies and commissioners and be responsible for implementing, monitoring and ensuring maintenance of operational standards of care that support safe, high-quality, person-centred practice. The role includes developing and maintaining strong links with key partners in the development of appropriate care pathways and working collaboratively with all agencies in line with the Service Level Agreement.

Above all you will ensure provision of a safe, culturally competent, effective, timely and accessible service that is in accordance with national and local priorities and responsive to the needs of individuals in contact with the service

  15. Chair meetings as required, team meetings, interface meetings.
  16. Post holder will ensure effective communication systems are in operation within the Team that support and enhance high quality care.
