Job summary

Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting opportunity in the Children's Services Team for a flexible, enthusiastic, well motivated administrator capable of working in a very busy and challenging environment.

This role is to assist in the provision of high quality, confidential and efficient administrative service to the 0-19 Public Health Nursing Teams to ensure an effective service is given to our service users.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit a good team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You need to be able to use your own initiative and work well within a team. The department is extremely busy and so you will need to have the ability to prioritise work to meet the changing needs of the administration team.

You will need to have

  • Computer/Typing experience
  • Experience of working within Children's Services
  • Experience of SystmOne

To assist with the maintenance and control of child health records (manual and electronic) to ensure they provide up to date, accurate and relevant information in line with recognised guidelines.

To assist with transferring records in/out of area adhering to strict protocol guidelines.

To deal with telephone enquiries from parents and health professionals, taking appropriate messages for health professionals to ensure queries are dealt with in a timely manner, in order to maintain an effective service.

To assist with the collation of statistical information as requested to enable production of relevant reports to provide accurate information for the continuous improvement of the service.

Opening, sorting and distribution of incoming mail. Scanning of appropriate documents onto the Electronic Patient Record

Any other admin duties as directed by the Admin Lead to enable smooth running of the service.

Management responsibility for this post will be with the Administration Lead
