Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Support Medical Secretary working within the Adult Neurodevelopmental Services
The role is 18 hours working Monday to Friday (3 Days).
We are looking for people with proven secretarial skills to undertake the delivery of a comprehensive, high quality support medical secretarial service to the Medical Secretaries, Consultant Psychiatrists and the junior medical staff in their teams.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to prioritise your workload and will be able to respond to competing demands on your time.
You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with patients, carers and all levels of staff, dealing with calls promptly and sensitively and ensuring that urgent calls are passed on as appropriate.
Excellent keyboard skills are essential as you will be responsible for the audio typewriting of clinical letters and for ensuring the Trust's patient databases are accurately maintained where required.
Applicants should have GCSE English qualification, or equivalent.
Ideally, you will have experience of working on clinical IT systems (SystmOne), although full training will be given.
We will provide the successful candidates with appropriate training specific to the Support Medical Secretary role.
This is a varied role that requires flexibility to be able to adapt to changes on a daily basis within the team of secretaries.
