An exciting opportunity has arisen for Mental Health Practitioner to join the North Derbyshire Early Intervention Service to support the team with their work with people experiencing a first episode of psychosis.

We are looking for a committed, dynamic, enthusiastic mental health practitioner to work within our friendly, multi-disciplinary, innovative team; this posts is open to a Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with experience and knowledge of this specialism.

The post holder will work closely with people referred into the service and with their family members in order to promote optimism and potential around vocation and independence. We are looking for committed individuals, who enjoy being part of a team and who value their therapeutic work. We all have a desire to make our Derbyshire wide Early Intervention Services the best we possibly can.

The posts holder will act as a care-coordinator for a designated number of people who are experiencing psychosis for the first time in line with the national early intervention standards.

Main duties of the job

Co-ordinating care for service users from the age of 14-65 experiencing a first episode of psychosis and adopting the policies and philosophy of the service and sharing the team vision.

Be involved in the learning culture and promote social inclusion and enhancing the independence and autonomy of the service user.

Be responsible and accountable for your own practice and have a legal responsibility to service users, colleagues and employers.

Demonstrate strong leadership skills.

Develop knowledge of the early intervention service and take part in appropriate training for the role.

Take part in the yearly NCAP audit.

Be ale to travel across a wide area in a timely and efficient way to meet the needs of the service.

To take part in and to give clinical supervision.
