Job summary
If you enjoy supporting student nurses in your role as Practice Assessor within your current clinical role and would like to develop this further, we have an opportunity for full time roles to support placements across the whole of DHCFT. One post is substantive (37.5 hours- 1 WTE) and the other (30 hours - 0.8 WTE) is a 12-month secondment or FTC (substantive subject to NHSE tariff income).
The posts are open to registered nurses who are Practice Assessors who have an excellent record of supporting student nurses. We are looking to recruit two Roaming Assessors who will work across Derbyshire teams in DHCFT.
Main duties of the job
Undertaking the role of peripatetic Practice Assessor for identified students / teams across different clinical settings in Derbyshire in line with Trust and University policies and procedures, national guidelines and NMC requirements.
Supporting student capacity
Developing the quality and capacity of placements.
Fostering learning cultures to value high quality patient care.
Providing training to teams to increase practice supervisor and practice assessor capacity.
Liaising with a range of stakeholders both internal and external to the trust (i.e., HEI's).
Provide professional, leadership and practice learning advice.
Act as an expert resource for nursing teams.
Assess the quality of potential and actual practice learning environments, facilitating the development, sustainability, and innovation of practice learning.
