Job summary

Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit a motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to work on our male acute ward at The Radbourne Unit.

The post holder will provide occupational assessment and treatment using a range of appropriate interventions based on the recovery philosophy and standardised occupational therapy assessments. They will build social networks and work in partnership with other agencies.

Main duties of the job

The Senior OT will support the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist in providing strong clinical leadership, ensuring evidence-based practice is delivered to improve the quality of practice. This may also include assuming the full range of responsibilities and accountabilities in the absence of the Clinical Lead OT.

There may be periods during the working week, whereby, the individual will be supporting shared tasks alongside nursing colleagues and contribute towards the overall functioning of the ward. Applicants are required to work a flexible shift pattern, including unsociable hours over a seven day period, to meet the needs of our service users.
