Lead Nurse - Adult Community Mental Health

Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mental Health Nurse to join the Derbyshire Early Intervention Service to support the implementation and delivery of the new Access and Waiting Time Standards in the context of a holistic and recovery based service model as recommended by N.I.C.E.

The post holder will work closely with people referred into the service and also with their family members in order to promote optimism and potential around vocation and independence. We are looking for committed individuals, who enjoy being part of a team and who value their therapeutic work. We all have a desire to make our Derbyshire wide Early Intervention Services the best we possibly can.

The posts holder will act as a care-coordinator for a designated number of people who are experiencing psychosis for the first time.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work within the Early intervention Service in the north of the county and will be based at Bayheath House in Chesterfield. The post holder will be the care co-ordinator for service users experiencing a first episode of psychosis. The role will ensure that service users receive care in line with the NICE standards for Early intervention care Nationally and will be expected to work towards the national audit. The post holder will be required to cover a wide geographical area and visit service users within their homes and other locations. The post holder will regularly assess risk.

It is expected that the post holder will engage in appropriate training to clinically enhance their clinical skills in early intervention work.
