Job summary
Full time 37.5 hours per week (part time hours considered) over a 24/7 shift rota.
Base: Ripley Town Hall
Due to further investment in the service, we are looking to expand our team and are interested in candidates who hold a professional registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse, Registered Social Worker or Registered Occupational Therapist who have experience working in mental health.
The team consists of mental health nurses and social workers and voluntary sector services. DHCFT clinical staff collaboratively work alongside our P3 and Derbyshire Federation for Mental Health advisors. The team are very supportive of each other and embrace the team vision: C.A.R.E - Compassionate, Aspirational, Respect & Equality and provide safe and effective care for our patients
The Service is a unique innovative developing service within Derbyshire providing a 24/7 open access helpline for an all age, all need service for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. The service provides local residents with direct access to the very best mental health care and support and encompasses the NHS principle, right care, right time and right place. The service holds regular interface meetings with all our partner agencies as well as with our service users and local residents with lived experience of mental ill health to review and evaluate the service.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will uphold a dynamic way of working, providing emotional support and signposting as well as offering a triage function and crisis response for individuals who may come into contact with emergency services such as Derbyshire Police, East Midlands Ambulance Service and Social Care, and furthermore will deliver timely and responsive face to face assessments where indicated. Candidates must have access to their own means of transport and be able to meet the travel requirements of the post (e.g. travel to locations all across Derbyshire to facilitate assessments where necessary).
The post holder will be involved in the piloting of the Street Triage Car with Derbyshire Police where a Clinician and Police Officer will respond in a police car to police calls relating to mental health and any potential S136's. The post holder will also work closely with the Safe Haven in Derby, which is run by the Charity Richmond Fellowship and be expected to participate in future developments within the service.
